About Belek:
Belek has rapidly become Turkey's foremost golfing area, with five international-standard courses, and many more being built.
The region frequently enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, and is a paradise for sporting enthusiasts. Aside from the golf, you can enjoy sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, mountain climbing and walking.
Belek is mainly made up of large, high quality resort hotels. Local amenities are also good, but shopping is perhaps best carried out in the city of Antalya, which is 30km to the East.
The resort benefits from a long and uninterrupted ribbon of white, sandy beach, with a beautiful mountainous back-drop (the Taurus Mountains).
GOLF COURSES at Belek:
The Gloria and Nobilis Courses are at one end of the resort. At the other end, but only 10 minutes away by car, you will find the National GC, the oldest golf club in Belek (a David Feherty design), also the Tat Golf, which is a 27-hole, and the new Antalya Golf Club with two stunning courses - Pasha and Sultan.
About Kemer:
Kemer is one of the most important Turkish tourist centres. The road from Antalya to Kemer goes through spectacular mountain scenery before entering this resort town which has been designed to blend in with the scenery and offers the perfect environment for a wonderful holiday.
You will find a fully equipped marina which is a yachtman’s dream. There is a beach promenade on the northern part of the marina which has steps leading down. You will also discover unspoilt beaches and bays in the southern part of the town
In the Yörük (Nomad) Theme Park, overlooking a lovely bay, you can watch traditional craftsmen work. Along the adjoining bay is a charming and delightful spot with sports and entertainment facilities discreetly hidden in pine groves.
According to the local citizens in the 1910’s, Kemer used to be called 'The Old Village' and was made up of a swamp and tiny lakes due to the small streams that trickled down from the mountains.
Once the people started to reside there, in 1916/1917, they decided to build a 23km stoney wall to prevent flooding. From this point forward their village was called ‘Kemer’, which means ‘Belt’ in Turkish.
